Industrial Technology Program Description
Industrial Technology unit offers Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Technology with concentration in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design, Technology Management, and Industrial Distribution & Logistics.
Industrial Technology
Industrial Technology is the field of study designed to prepare technical/ management-oriented professionals for employment in industry, business, education, and government establishments. The main emphasis is Drafting and Design Technology. Industrial Technology degree program is geared toward careers involved with the application of theories, concepts, and principles found in the humanities and the social and behavioral sciences, including a thorough grounding in technical communication skills. The program also deals with the application of concepts derived from, and current skills developed in a variety of technical and related disciplines which may include, but are not limited to, materials and production processes, industrial management, drafting and design, human resources management, graphic communications, and electronics technology.
Computer-Aided Drafting and Design
The Computer Aided Drafting and Design option is designed to prepare computer aided drafters, designers and management professionals for employment in industry, business, education, and government establishments.
Technology Management
The Technology Management option is designed to prepare young men and women as technical managers in a variety of positions in industry, business, education and government related to production, processing and manufacturing. The program deals with tools, materials, machines, equipment, products, processes, occupation and management.
Industrial Distribution and Logistics
The Industrial Distribution and Logistics option is designed to prepare students to acquire technical and managerial skills for efficient distribution and transportation of products to various customers. Professionals with logistics training are typically employed in industry, business, and government agencies such as the military.
